Background
Eil.com is an e-commerce site specializing in the sale of various music items, with a focus on new and vintage vinyl records. The site offers hundreds of thousands of records from all eras, featuring different ratings.
The website has been active since the 90s and has never undergone a design change.
Main goals of the website:
Search and sale of vinyl records.
Purchase and trade of records of all types.
Sale of CDs.
Sale of books and magazines.
Sale of posters, pictures, and more.
The Challenge
Redesigning the eil.com Website
The goal is to make the website easier to use and more friendly, simplifying the visuals while sticking to its main objectives. This strategy aims to improve the overall user experience without changing the main reasons people use the website. Ultimately, this will get more people interested and lead to increased sales for the business.
Initially, I tried to overlook the website's design and evaluated the user flow from the moment of searching for an album to completing the purchase. I identified confusing areas, primarily a significant cognitive load.
Benchmark Analysis
I analyzed three leading competitors and noted the advantages and disadvantages of each. Following that, I evaluated additional e-commerce websites and drew conclusions that I intend to implement in the new design.
Information Architecture
I organized the information architecture for the EIL website and ranked each category based on its level of importance after rearranging the relevant sections from the previous website.

UI Mockups
The design of the screens and the color palette was inspired by streamers and various music stores.
